Interview with Alice:
My passion for photography began at a very young age with the handling of film cameras almost self-taught. The use of digital came only during my Senior high school year option Plastic Arts (2004), in order to be able to follow the flow of creative ideas linked to this discipline (and to spare the parental wallet …).
Then, during my Degree in Art History in Clermont-Ferrand (2004-2007), I began to explore the work of reference photographers (Martine Franck, Helen Levitt, Man Ray, Saul Leiter, Henri Cartier -Bresson…), and the principles of composition in Modern and Contemporary Art. This allowed me to develop a look that is both graphic and deconstructivist on scenes of daily life, a subject that is dear to me.
I then moved to Toulouse for a Masters in Archaeology. In parallel with my student and professional life, I had the good idea to join the Samba Résille association first at the batucada school then as a photographer during batucada outings, as well as some mobility (including some shots are from). Outside of the association, I have always chosen the street as my favorite field. But very quickly limited by the lack of technical mastery, I wanted to take some training with the associations Combustible and Poussière d’image (2017). It is partly thanks to these teachings that I received the 1st prize at the 2nd Marathon of the MAP festival (theme "Let's Get Green", 2017).
Silhouettes Exhibition
An archaeologist by training, I have always wondered about the relationship of humans to their environment. The small selection presented here reflects these questions, which sometimes serve as a pretext for a purely graphic composition but always taken from life: light, color and backlighting are the common threads.
In addition to presenting these shots, I made unique surrounds, each illustrating an element of photography, thus reconnecting with the creative fervor left in a corner for years...
